You carry a unique and beautiful light within. Sometimes we tend to forget that. This painting is a reminder that it is ever present and you can simply turn inwards and be reminded. 
 
the pigments where foraged on a beautiful morning hike in the Gorge Area in South Africa, a place that reminded me of the beauty of life, a place where the sun seemed to shine brighter. 
I sat with this painting in the process of a breakup, where I needed to remind myself that there is forgiveness and behind the forgiveness there is light. Most of all it was about me forgiving myself, for that I dimmed my light to stay in that relationship. 
​​​​​​​In the last weeks of trying to save this connection I stoped painting because I somehow knew that everything would "fall apart" as soon as a sat down for a moment. Here I was broken, but in reality breaking open so that my light could come though again. Remembering that all the love and all of light is WITHIN me
